After being a guitar teacher for 7-8 years I’d been taking on more and more students until eventually I was fully booked.
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to take on any new students, but I hated having to turn people away. I was getting regular phone calls and emails from people asking if I could teach them or if I could refer them to another guitar teacher in the local area.
My waiting list was getting very long…
So, I thought about it long and hard… what could I do?
I’d got lots of eager students on a waiting list, I was fully booked and I still had people calling me and emailing me for guitar lessons.

I decided rather than turn these students away, I’d refer them to other local guitar teachers in the area whom I’d built up a relationship with and they’d become my recommended guitar teacher in the area.
Initially I wasn’t sure how the local guitar teacher would react…
Would they want me to refer students to them or would they prefer to find their own students?
Well… they almost bit my hand off! The local teachers were incredibly happy for me to refer any students I couldn’t take on to them.

Over time we gradually started branching out into other areas of the UK. Advertising locally and on the Internet for people looking for guitar lessons. We started to receive hundreds of enquiries from people wanting to learn the guitar.
All our customers are very happy because we find them a guitar teacher who is just right for them!
