Staying In Tune
When you have recently restrung a guitar, you may find that it easily goes out of tune. This is because the strings have not been stretched out properly. I will now explain what you should do when restringing a guitar if you want it to stay in tune after.

When you have put the first, thickest string on the guitar, tune it to the correct pitch and then fret the first fret and pull the string away from the fingerboard at around the forth or fifth fret, as shown below...

Once you have done this, repeat the process all the way up the fretboard, stretching the string four or five frets from where you are fretting. This will lower the pitch of the string, so tune the string to the correct pitch and stretch the string again. You should carry on doing this, tuning after each time until the string is still in tune once it has been stretched. You can then move onto the next string and carry on until all of the strings have been stretched out, then the guitar should remain in tune.
