FAQ’s

Since Best Pick Guitar Teaching Agency started, I’ve received a lot of questions from students who are looking for a guitar teacher in their area. I decided to put this frequently asked question page together to help answer and questions or concerns you may have.

Question: I’m looking for a guitar teacher in my area and I’m thinking of using the Best Pick websites to help me find the right teacher. Is this a free service for me or do I have to pay?

Answer: Best Pick Guitar Teaching Agency is a free service for the student. You don’t pay us anything. We actually make our money from the local guitar teacher who pays us a ‘finders fee’ for referring students to them on a regular basis. All you need to do is contact one of the guitar teachers on your local area website and they’ll get back in touch with you.

Question: How does Best Pick find it’s teachers?

Answer: We find our guitar teachers in several ways:

  • From our personal contacts around the country,
  • By contacting new teachers on behalf of our students and then putting the teacher through an application process to ensure they fit all requirements

Question: What happens if you don’t have a guitar teacher in my area?

Answer: We are always looking to expand the service so if we don’t have a teacher in your area, we will go out and find one. Again, we’ll find out what you’re looking for and put the teacher through a short application process.

Sometimes we may not be able to find you a guitar teacher in your exact town, especially if you live in a small town/village so we’d put you in touch with the best teacher in the biggest Town near you.

Question: What is the exact process I need to go through?

Answer: The process you need to go through is this…

  1. Go to the Choose Your Tutor page on the website for your area, and browse through the guitar teacher profiles. Take note of the styles, types, cost, location etc of the teacher.
  2. Make contact with the teacher you’d like to take lessons with through the contact form at the bottom of their profile. (Make sure you send your telephone number in the message you send so they can call you back to discuss the lessons if necessary.)
  3. You will then be contacted by the teacher you sent the message to as soon as possible to arrange your first guitar lesson.
  4. We may call you back to gather feedback about the teacher and to ensure the teacher fits your requirements. (This helps us make sure we’re providing our students with the best teachers)

Question - Are all Best Pick recommended guitar teachers CRB checked?

Answer - Not all Best Pick guitar teachers are CRB checked. In my guitar teacher application form I ask if the teacher is CRB checked, but we still take on teachers who aren’t. At present CRB checks aren’t a requirement for tuition although in the future they may well be.

CRB checks are required if a teacher is teaching in schools, but not private.

We ALWAYS ensure we get feedback from our existing students about the guitar teachers, therefore we’re able to recommend our teachers with confidence. However I would still advise using your own common sense & using caution as you would with any teacher you located yourself.

When I teach my own guitar lessons I allow the parent to sit in on their child’s guitar lessons until they are happy, therefore I’d recommend asking your guitar teacher if this is ok.

If you have any other questions, please go to the contact us page and submit your questions or feedback.

I look forward to speaking with you soon,
